My name is Sherry Hunt and I first became aware of fitness in my early 30’s when I would lose and gain weight, which we all know is not ideal. From doing cardio and weights on my own, I finally was convinced to take a spinning class and then became a spin instructor.
I have back issues so I started to take yoga classes to help with that, along with balance and flexibility. My biggest regret is that I did not start doing yoga earlier!
Outside of the fitness world, I am a patent paralegal at a Boston law firm, where I have been employed for almost 25 years. I have one daughter, Shannon, and I am a grandmother...who knew I could love someone so much (a grandmother’s love is different than a mother’s love)! I love going to the Caribbean in the winter and sitting by my pool in the summer. I'm also a diehard Patriots fan.
Jessica Corzo de Martin is a Latin beauty born in Lima, Peru. Jessica has been heavily involved in sports from an early age. A Karate 1st Dan black belt and former full contact kickboxing champion, Jessica also is a former Miss Fitness contender and champion.
Being from Latin America, she oozes the Latin dance in everything she does...Zumba is just a natural extension of herself. Jessica is a Zumba instructor, having been teaching Zumba since 2009 across 2 continents. Every class where Jessica is present is a whole other level of fun!
Jim Velastegui has been a Zumba instructor for over eight years. The best way to describe his style is passion. Jim says he's passionate about the music of Zumba because it is what he grew up with, and he is passionate about his students, because they are one big happy family in the hour they are together.
He also enjoys the fact that he couldn't get one girl to dance with him all through high school, and now he gets paid to do so!
Shannon Whitney has been a Certified Group Fitness Instructor/Petsonal Trainer since 2006 and a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). She holds certifications with AFAA, Pound, Bender Barre and the Yoga Alliance. She holds a BS in Child Psychology and has her BSN-RN.
Fitness has always been a huge part of Shannon's life. She runs marathons as a hobby and has a goal of completing 30 in her 30’s.
A yoga class with Shannon is more than just exercising; it’s a mind body experience designed to push you outside of your comfort zone. It’s about enjoying the time for yourself and remembering that by practicing yoga its teaching you how to be more kind and loving to yourselves and you should honor that.
